Welcome to the Harford County Forestry Board
Serving Harford County since 1943 as a volunteer advisory board dedicated to forest conservation, tree stewardship, and environmental education.
Our Mission
The Harford County Forestry Board promotes forest conservation and stewardship in Harford County through volunteer service. We are a member of the Maryland Forestry Foundation and operate under the authority of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service.
What We Do
- Host community workshops, educational outreach events, and Earth Day activities
- Support the Maryland Big Tree Program to identify and protect champion trees
- Coordinate Envirothon environmental education programs for local students
- Organize and participate in community tree plantings across Harford County
- Review and approve timber harvest plans in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area
- Build partnerships with local schools, civic groups, and landowners to advance forest stewardship
Our Partnerships
The Harford County Forestry Board collaborates with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service, the Maryland Forestry Foundation, the American Chestnut Foundation, Harford County Public Schools, civic organizations, and private landowners to advance forest conservation and community stewardship throughout Harford County.
